About King's Dust

King’s Dust is the home of artistry in the form of great songs and the collaborative artists who create them. Our songs harness the ability to enhance or shift one’s mood. To evoke emotion. To activate universal creativity and connectivity through music. Connect, enjoy, inquire. – Jaco

Founder King’s Dust

I’m the beneficiary of decades of experience with talented people playing in front of me. As a drummer, that’s your perspective. As years of drumming accrued, so did my taste for learning to play what’s best for a song. I stretched my discerning ear to keenly listen to what everyone else was playing, ensuring the sounds and timing of their contributions were also what was best for the song, as well as the audience. Then my first studio experience came…

The studio changed my perspective on just about every aspect of music and music creation. Now surrounded by musicians (not just those scattered in front of me), I learned to appreciate the art of recording, producing, editing, and mixing… so much work, but work of passion. I cannot put into words, the sensation that transpires when hearing the first mix that offers a hint of your vision coming to life… an organic high that is truly addictive!

I’ve co-written many songs with the combination of talent listed on the site. My first solo effort, “It’s About Hope”, was originally recorded by Glenny T in 2016. The song was performed in Times Square by members of the esteemed Broadway choir, the Broadway Inspirational Voices. Suitably enough, the BIV singing event was in support of a Red Nose Day charity, supporting impoverished children and their families.

I went back to writing and recording under the original band name “King’s Dust”. Recruiting the stable of musicians that make up King’s Dust resulted in the country ballad “Ten Minutes from Memphis”, the country pop single “Selfie Made Man”, and the Americana sing-along “Dive Bar and Diplomats”.

Most recently (2024 – 2025), I handed the production keys over to Gregory Pearson to give “It’s About Hope” a contemporary gospel feel. Recorded at Inner Court Studios in Detroit with the acclaimed gospel duo Sounds of Imani, they kicked the song in the contemporary gospel ass! It’s a matter of time before the power of that song with its inspirational message is coveted on a global scale.

So, here we are, co-spirits of music with an appreciation of the work and talent that both creators and listeners put into it. I’m forever humbled by the talent I’ve attracted, the creative process, and especially by all of you who connect with the music. Thank You!
